Hey guys! Have you signed up for Stitch Fix yet? I just got my very first "Fix" and I must say, I'm impressed. Stitch Fix is a service that provides a personal stylist to YOU and they send you 5 items at a time on a schedule YOU choose. You keep what you like and send back what you don't! It's fun and so easy!
I'd seen many other bloggers posting about it and decided to give it a try. I was curious what they'd pick out for me.
First of all, filling out your profile is super fun. It's very detailed so your stylist can learn what your needs are, what your budget is, and what your style is...or what you want it to become. They even show you many pictures to make the process very simple.
I have to admit, I was skeptical. I'm extremely picky about my clothes and wondered how someone who's never met me could possibly know what I'd wear. Well, I was wrong. The stylists at Stitch Fix are very detailed and they pay attention and do their research about you! My stylist did a great job and I can tell she "got me". I found it very interesting and wanted to share my thoughts with you because I think there are a few tips that can make YOUR Stitch Fix more enjoyable...
First, don't breeze through the application questions. Take the time to be as detailed as you can as this will help your stylist get to know what you like.
Second, make a Stitch Fix Pinterest Board with styles you like, your stylist will look at it and it will help them choose items for you. Also FOLLOW Stitch Fix on Pinterest and Instagram. It's a great place to view items and decide what you like! You can request items you like in your next Fix!
Third, when you get your items, don't just try them on...TRY THEM ON. Don't just try on a shirt for example, style it . For example, put it on with your favorite jeans and belt....put shoes on that you'd wear with those jeans, put on a necklace or a scarf....it helps to see the whole outfit before making a decision. Trust me, when I first held up the striped top with the pocket, I thought I wasn't going to like it. But when I put it on with the jeans, did the "half tuck", put on my own shoes and jewelry, it's now one of my favorite things! I love it! By the way, the "half tuck" is a great styling tip. It means tucking just the front of your shirt in like in the pic of me above...it helps create a waist so it's flattering in the front AND the back....it also helps show off a belt which can add more detail to an outfit. I do this all the time;) Here's an example of a simple way to style an outfit by adding a couple of your own items...
If you see Stitch Fix items you like on Instagram, you can request them in your next Fix! Also when you return items, be detailed about what you liked about it and what you didn't, so they can continue to fine tune your style. You can also change your profile at any time. If you have special needs, like an occasion coming up, you can let them know! Communicate with your stylist so they can best style YOU!
If you love Stitch Fix, tell your friends! Upon signing up, they will give you a referral link and when your friends sign up, Stitch Fix will reward you and you can get credit toward your clothes! So yes, of course I invite you to sign up using my referral link here:
So, I have to admit, I'm SO excited for my next "Fix" to arrive! I loved getting the box of goodies in the mail. I got a very personalized note from my stylist which was so cool!
So what did I receive? Many of you over on Instagram wanted me to write a blog post listing exactly what I received with the brands etc because you liked what you saw... so I'm going to share so you can request my items in YOUR fix if you choose! Here's what I got...(listed in order in picture below)
- Kut From The Kloth - Maribel Distressed Straight Leg Jean
- Renee C - Gean Pullover Knit Top
- Stuccato - Cece Pocket Knit Tee
- Dahlya - Shelba Faux Leather Hem Dolman Knit Top
- Tart - Artois Faux Leather Vest (reversible)
FYI....This entire shipment with all 5 items cost me $234.78 including tax and everything.
The coolest thing about Stitch Fix is who it's for and how it's solving a problem for women!
Some women are BUSY and working hard and don't have time to shop. Some women don't enjoy shopping, but want to look great! Some women love to shop but may not live in an area that has great shopping! This solves all of those problems!
I love this because it goes so much further than just online shopping because you actually have your own personal stylist styling YOU!
I LOVE it for me because it's going to free up my time AND I will try new things that I may not have tried otherwise! We tend to get stuck in a fashion rut and gravitate toward the same types of items over and over again. This can help you look great....and feel great. Some people don't have a personal style and don't know where to start. This can help so much! I love anything that can help women feel more confident and this can definitely help with that.
I hope you give it a try! Enjoy!
Now, I want to add one thing here...because I'm not going to advise that you start spending all of your money on clothes without having a plan. I know how much money I can spend on clothes because I live by a budget. Do you have a budget? If you don't, you need to get one and I can help you. I've developed a Financial Freedom Guide because I want to teach YOU how to spend money without guilt. There was a time when I would shop for clothes and feel some guilt and sometimes not even show my husband what I bought. That's not enjoyable!! Since figuring out my budget, I can shop without guilt and give my husband a fashion show with my new items! Win - Win!! Husbands love this, by the way ladies! If you don't have a budget, don't beat yourself up about it.....just make a decision to change it! Click the button below and start getting your finances in order. Right NOW. Then, go shop!! :)
