So, recently my husband and I went to a sushi restaurant and I had a Jalapeño Lime cocktail that was called a "Rico Suave". It was so good! It was SPICY! My friend found out the recipe and made them over at our house and they were so tasty!! I'm a simple girl though and it had too many ingredients so I made up this cocktail based on my Lime Drop and it's just as good!
You will need: Ice and a shaker....and something for "muddling"
- Lime - fresh juice
- Jalapeño
- Cucumber
- Pure cane simple syrup
- Vodka
- Lime soda water
Dice up a couple of slices of cucumber and a couple slices of jalapeño into small bits. Put in a small cup with a splash of lime soda water and "muddle" it... I used the other end of my juicer!
Fill a shaker 1/2 full of ice. Dump the muddled ingredients in. Add 1 ounce of vodka. Add 1/2 ounce of simple syrup. Add the juice of one lime. Shake well! Pour into the glass of your choice.... would be pretty in a martini glass too! Top with Lime soda water. Makes one drink.
I tried this drink recipe yesterday afternoon, it happened to be 4:30, and texted a friend about it because she LOVES spicy drinks and it turned out SO good.... here's the text...
So that's how it got it's name. My husband an I recently re-watched the movie Wanderlust and that quote is in it and it cracked us up!! :) This Jalapeño Lime cocktail is so refreshing....but it's got some KICK! If you don't like spicy, you can tone it down by removing the jalapeño seeds to make it milder....or I'd recommend the regular Lime Drop recipe which is delicious too! Enjoy!
